As part of GLC’s vision and mission to promotion of a diverse, competitive and inclusive legal market in Canada by supporting internationally educated lawyers that wish to practice law in Canada, we would like to highlight the hard work of our partners at the Internationally Trained Lawyers CBA Alberta‘s south section in Calgary.
This outstanding initiative attained representation for ITLs within CBA Alberta‘s specialty group community or sections. Since its launch in 2016, it has provided sound insight into the qualification process, the requirements, the challenges and the opportunities of working in the Canadian legal market!
GLC strongly recommends registering* for CBA’s Internationally Trained Lawyers south section this 2018-2019 through one of the two options below:
- $90 if you are in Calgary and planning to attend all five meetings (which include lunch and non-alcoholic beverages) plus 2 social events at CBA’s Calgary downtown offices; or
- $75 for webcasting membership if you are outside downtown Calgary, with the option to also attend in person any meeting for an additional $25 each.
*Section registration requires prior membership to the Canadian Bar Association, however National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) students, are eligible to apply as Law School Students for as little as $20-30 per year!
For general information on registration, please follow this link. Law school students members cannot register online, therefore to register please contact CBA Alberta‘s Edmonton office at 780-428-1230 or by email at edmonton2@cba-alberta.org or its Calgary office at 403-263-3707 or by email at mail@cba-alberta.org.
